Chorizo for Christ

Friday marked a huge day of growth in the faith journey of 12 year old, Reuben. The day began bright and early (5am PST) when the crew began making chorizo burritos for the breakfast crowd.
With an increase of servants in the tents, a group of servants including the Badleys decided to set out on foot to canvas the area and take the blessed burritos to the people protecting the disaster zone: The National Guard.
Several stops were made to reach out to the men and women in uniform. Reuben stepped up and lead prayers over two groups of these humble and brave soldiers. As parents raising children in the Lord, moments like this add a next-level feeling of thankfulness to this whole adventure of parenting.
Though much of the day was spent on foot in the neighborhood, there was still plenty of activity at the relief tents. A thing to note is that this neighborhood is not like the Palisades and other wealthy neighborhoods, receiving tons of national recognition. It truly is a mission to be the hands and feet of Jesus to the least of these.
David says, "The best is the consistency of the residents still hanging around the neighborhood. They love coming here and are opening up more and more. We all notice it."
"Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfot those who are in any trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God." - 2 Corinthians 1:3-4
Praises & Prayers:
Richard's son, Robert, went to the hospital with seizures. He came to the tent to be prayed over. When he returned for dinner, his son was doing well!
Martin saved his house by using the water from the pool, but all his neighbors that he loved are homeless.
David & Reuben have an opportunity to visit David's incarcerated brother on Sunday since the servants take a break for church. Pray for the guys as they take the church to Brandon. He has been more softened to the Gospel than ever before and we are praying that this visit is the day of salvation for him!
